Project Huskie was an extraordinary endeavor that marked a milestone in Amazon’s expansion of automated facilities. This project featured a massive three-story steel structure nestled within a vast concrete framework—a true “building within a building.” The scale of the project was impressive, comprising 28 stair towers, 16 exterior access stairs, and an astounding 2.5 miles of mezzanine railing. Intermark Steel commenced installation with just five ironworkers and rapidly scaled the crew to 27 erectors within weeks, demonstrating our capacity to adapt and grow in response to project demands. Given the project’s significance to both Amazon and Intermark, Matt Blaser took on the responsibility of personally managing daily operations on-site. The success of Project Huskie not only elevated Intermark to a new level in the industry but also established a foundation for our field operations, as the skilled crew assembled for this project became instrumental in shaping our future endeavors.
