Intermark Steel undertook a challenging project involving the demolition and reconstruction of 27 stairs at Boulder Springs. The existing stair openings did not conform to current building codes, presenting a significant hurdle for the team. To navigate this challenge, Intermark collaborated closely with the local building inspector, ensuring each stair was custom-built to meet the new requirements. This project required innovative thinking and a creative approach to design and construction. Due to previous experiences with precast concrete treads that presented inherent issues, Intermark no longer fabricates exterior stairs for residential projects. However, in 2022, the company is developing a proprietary stair tread that promises to revolutionize building methods for residential applications. This new product aims to enhance safety and functionality while maintaining aesthetic appeal.
